About Susanna
(she/her)
I believe that seeking out a therapist is an immense act of bravery. It is a privilege to create space for people’s stories and to reflect their intrinsic strengths even during the most difficult times. I love the chance to connect with other humans and am so glad you’ve found Acorn Counseling.
My experience & HISTORY
I graduated from the University of Michigan School of Social Work in 2018 and began my clinical work in medical settings. It was in medical social work that my passion grew for supporting the strong connection between physical and emotional health. For the past three years, I have been working in private practice providing counseling services to adolescents and adults.
I am a member of the National Association of Social Work and continue to participate in educational opportunities to expand my knowledge in the field and better myself and my practice.
A little more about me…
When I’m not working, you can find me knitting another blanket that I don’t need, cuddling with my cat Stella, and navigating life as a person with chronic illness. I love spending time with my husband and taking trips up north to our hometown; walking the beaches, collecting rocks, and taking far too many pictures of the water. You can also find us tucked in at home playing cards and board games or taste-testing baked goods that I create in the kitchen.
I welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities and do not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, age, gender identity and expression, sexuality, religion, and ability. My practice has a foundation in intuitive eating and Health at Every Size (HAES) frameworks.
